Folk Art Colorful Cone Flower Art Suncatcher
Inspired by imperfect lines, this is my interpretation of a folk art cone flower. I love the bold yet simple image of this cone flower and chose mostly rich opaque glasses to highlight the dark black solder lines. Made using the traditional Tiffany method with copper foil, each individual piece of glass is meticulously cut down, ground to perfection, then wrapped in copper foil. After all pieces fit together perfectly like a puzzle, a thick and uniform layer of solder is laid over the copper lines, acting as the ‘glue’ to hold it all together. I chose a thick border to accentuate the irregular shaped edge of this piece, and black patina covers all the solder lines.
This piece measures approximately 6.5” wide x 8.5” tall and hangs on a substantial black leather cord. I recommend hanging my stained glass suncatchers directly on a nail above your window.
